SENATOR JACK REED, DEM JANET COIT, PARTNERS MARK ARBOR DAY WITH GRANT AWARDS, TREE PLANTING

PROVIDENCE - The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) – in partnership with Senator Jack Reed, RI Tree Council, National Grid, and the Newport Tree Society – will hold a special celebration this Friday to mark the 129^th anniversary of Arbor Day.  In addition to a tree planting, several Rhode Island communities will receive awards as part of the National Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City and Tree Campus USA programs; urban forestry grants for 10 local communities will also be announced.
