Did you get a Raise ?

After they are sworn in on Jan. 1, the annual salary paid to the governor is going from $139,695 a year to $145,755; and new Attorney General Peter Neronha, from $124,991 to $130,413.

At the same time, the salaries paid to Lt. Gov. Dan McKee, General Treasurer Seth Magaziner, and Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea are rising from $117,637 a year to $122,740, according to information provided by Brenna McCabe, public information officer at the Department of Administration.

Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society 17th Annual Open House / Yard Sale Bake Sale / Book Sale

The Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society is holding its 17th annual Open House at the Bridgeton School, 16 Laurel Hill Avenue, Pascoag on Saturday, October 6 from 9 – 3 p.m.  There will also be a yard sale as well as a Book Sale and Bake Sale.  It will be held rain or shine.

Come and see our display of old farm tools and old farm photos.  Other old photos and artifacts will be on display and the public will have access to research materials.  Come and learn about our Gravestone Conservation Program where we are restoring honor and respect to the town’s old graveyards by repairing and conserving old gravestones.  We are seeking volunteers to help clean some of the town’s abandoned cemeteries.  Come and learn how you can help by Adopting-a-cemetery!

The 12 th Annual North Smithfield Great Pumpkin Festival will be held on Saturday, September 15, from 11am to 5pm (rain or shine).



Non-perishable food items are being accepted this year for our North Smithfield Food Pantry. A family donation at the gate (monetary or non-perishable food) receives a free raffle ticket good for this years large array of raffles - items displayed in the "PumpkinFest HQ Tent."



This year, PumpkinFest will feature a Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest, Pie Eating Contests and a Pumpkin Pie Bake Off.

**Bring your carved/decorated pumpkin to the “PumpkinFest HQ Tent" between 11am - 3pm

**Children’s Pie Eating Contest at the “Children’s Pumpkin Patch” at 1pm and 3pm

** Bring your pumpkin pie to the “PumpkinFest HQ Tent” between 11am and 3pm. Pies will be judged promptly at 3:30 pm



Family friendly acts on the main stage include: the Iguana Guy; The Delorians RI Band, "Charlie Marie," a Country solo artist; the local band Niteflies and Dennis The Magician. For the first time this year, the festival will host the Southwick Zoo, the hands-on ZooMobile Program called EARTH from 11am – 2pm.



GET YOUR BUTTONS EARLY - Admission buttons can be purchased in advance NOW for $1 per person, at the following locations: NS Town Hall, NS ‘Lil General, R & D Seafood, Wright’s Dairy, Goodwin Bros. and NS Walgreens. Admission purchased at the gate on September 15 th is $2 per person.
